The Thandi-Paul Cluver MTB Trails are part of the PPA & W2W funded trails, which are open to the public.
Sign the Trail permit, pay and fix the bike board.
The principle No Bike Board = No Ride applies, as agreed with landowners.

Rogue riders (without bike boards) will be banned from entering W2W, Cape Epic, Dirtopia and PPA events.

The Trail starts and finishes at the Paul Cluver Wine Tasting Room (take the Kromco, Paul Cluver turnoff from the N2).

How to get there?

Travel on N2 from Cape Town towards Botriver, pass Peregrine Restaurant (on the right) and turn left at Kromco & Paul Cluver turnoff. The Fresh Restaurant, next to the Wine Tasting Room, serves light meals, Paul Cluver wine, cool drinks & beer.

How much?

Daily fee: R 20 for PPA members and R 40 for non-PPA members;
Annual fee: R 150 for PPA Members and R 300 for non-PPA members;

Weekends and holidays:

Weekdays:
Pay & get bike permits at Paul Cluver Wine Tasting, which is open from 07h30 – 17h00 during OCT – MARCH; and 08h00 – 16h00 during APRIL – SEPT

The routes?

Short Red – 8 km – Start from Paul Cluver Amphitheater, at the Skaapsteker turn off, turn right and over the Olifants dam wall, back to Amphitheater;
Blue Route – 12 km – Start from Paul Cluver Amphitheater, at the Skaapsteker turn off, turn right and at the Olifants dam wall turn left, via orchards back to Amphitheater;
Long Red – 30 km – Start from Paul Cluver Amphitheater, at the Skaapsteker turn off, go straight (don’t turn off onto the short Red / Blue route) along Saaldam, Boomslang, Switchbacks, over to Thandi along Huppelland, stop at Gorden’s Kitchen for refreshments, do the Switchbacks and the Thandi loop, before going back to Paul Cluver;
Black – 44 km – similar to Long Red, but at Saaldam trunoff turn left, via Kroondam, Rietvlei, Kili Hill 1 AND 2 (2 x tougher but shorter climb), Witklippieskloof, Saaldam, back onto the Long Red route.
The Play Park in the Amphitheater offers a short circuit with various technical features.
